Lulu and the Lampshades
Feet To The Sky Voga Parochia

Article written by James G - Oct 12, 2009

Lulu and the Lampshades. Awful name. But you’ll remember it, and I suppose that’s the point. ‘Feet To The Sky’ is, indeed, a track of two halves. Think Lisa Mitchell or a decent Kate Nash, and there is the pulsing, shuffling part of this song. Then, as things go jazzy and swingy, Kath Way and Dislocation Dance are brought to mind. I, personally, can’t abide tracks that change tempo and indulge in time signature foolery. I therefore prefer the second track, ‘Rose Tint’, which tells us about "this habit of mine…rose tinting all of my memories is my favourite pastime".
