Matthew North When You CryBandcamp

Even a month or so after its release, a track containing the line "summer's almost over" can leave you on a bit of a downer, since the sunny season has yet to really kickstart itself. But when you play maudlin, lovelorn tracks like 'When You Cry' it actually fits the ambience quite well.
This new one from Matthew North is a curious beast though, as it subtly shimmers into being with an kind of DIY acoustic strum, before flexing its muscles and bowing out with a late peroid proggish guitar solo that Dave Gilmour would be happy with. You could say it's a bit like two songs for the price of one.
