The Left Outsides The Third Light Hi-Beat Records 7”

‘The Third Light’ is folk rock with a psychedelic swagger. Anchored by a steady beat, it allows Alison’s viola to soar above Mark’s enigmatic vocals creating a minor- key miracle of dark intensity. The flipside ‘Deep Rivers Move in Silence; Shallow Brooks Are Noisy’ has a Nico-like ethereality, a confession for reading the diary of someone now dead who was frustrated in life. The sympathetic production by Scottish band Found creates a haunting electro-folk feel that provokes a shiver on a summer’s day. More must-hear music from south London’s psych-o-nauts.
