Goofin’ Around (In Lancashire) Egg Records 7”

Released on “fried egg” vinyl on their own label, Lancaster’s Lovely Eggs produce 3 minutes of joyously insane pop, described the struggle to find a party in that city. ‘Goofin’ Around (In Lancashire)’ is catchy pop filled with screeching, fuzzed-up guitars and a sludgy psychedelic Stooges moment in the middle, while ‘Ballad Of All Time And That’ is the confessions of badly behaved booze buddies, drenched in wild feedback. It’s debauched, deranged and definitely excellent. And in best Christmas single tradition, they end with a scream of pleasure: “let’s get fucked now!”
