The Pablos from Leeds are unashamedly retro, mining the sound of garage and psychedelia from the 60s, but investing so much life into the songs that they’re more than just resurrection men. ‘Lose Control’ is a mad-as-fuck garage tune full of snarl and menace, the guitar an arsonist’s dream for the way the riff sets fire to the song. The bluesy garage-punk of ‘Open Up Your Mind’ is almost as fine, reminding you of Texan groups from the ‘60s like the 13th Floor Elevators and the Lost and Found. A great take on a fantastic sound, this is a single full of garage goodness.
