Voluntary Bulter Scheme - Much Obliged, Jeeves

OK so there's not exactly a shortage of shambolic whimsical north-of Watford pop music at the mo, but the Voluntary Butler Scheme do it well. The title track is a lovely tumble of fuzzy guitars, handclaps and that funny keyboard thing you blow into. Espousing love by reference to broccoli, running shoes and La Bamba might cross the twee line for some, but it's all fun enough. As are the other songs here - which shuffle and bumble by on in a bit of a smiley daze. Not one for the chinstroker, but gently endearing niceness all the same.
