The Definitive SoundsXP Writers Poll - Best Albums, Songs and Live Acts for 2013

Article written by Paul M - Dec 14, 2013

katy_sxp_award.jpg
Ok, well 2013 now approaches its final curtain and the SoundsXP hacks have spent some of its final days collectively stroking chins, scoffing savoury snacks and consuming oodles of pints of frothing brown stuff before collapsing in a steaming heap behind a skip in Deptford. Upon recovering we found a soiled sheet with the supposed highlights of the year scrawled in either brown crayon or something far worse...

Anyway, enough of the guff, here's the final part of a desperate attempt to drag this out over a couple of days, where we finally reveal who actually won.

The album award proved to be something of a romp for Ohio miserabilists, The National, while in the song category, Daft Punk proved that we can also pull some shapes, even if those shapes are badly deformed.

And sorry, despite the picture, the lovely Ms Perry doesn't feature anywhere in these lists...
